Apparel Company Job Satisfaction During COVID-19
COVID is a very problematic situation all over the world. The majority of industries were affected by this pandemic due to COVID-19, which had a negative impact on employee satisfaction in the apparel firm.

Due
to this pandemic situation, there are about 24.7 million jobless people
worldwide. Due to this impact, mostly the employees (mid-rangers) got affected
and got bored with their jobs as there was no job satisfaction [Kavindi et al.,
2021].
Reasons for non-satisfied behavior
- - Decreased salary (Basic only)
- - No promotion
- - Stress due to over working time
- - No overtime pay provided.
- - No proper leaves provided.
- - No job security.
- - Untimely curfews, restricts the regular attendance.
- - More production is required within short time
- - Mental fear
Based
on the above theory by Pennsylvania State University, job satisfaction is
categorized into three parts. As per this theory, employees’ job satisfaction
has to be evaluated based on what the employee likes, what challenges
him/her-self, and the reliability of work and job security. As a result, these
measures will be more important in order to keep employees in a company.
Several factors influence job satisfaction
- Good leadership practices have to be maintained during the pandemic to control the spread of the virus and provide the proper safety environment for their employees.
- Proper recognition should be given.
- technological advancement and innovative idea practices
- Personal growth in both finance and talent
- Feedback and support have to be provided from higher officials to the employer.
- A clear direction and objectives have to be maintained.
- Work-from-home strategies to alleviate industry overcrowding
- providing the proper salary without any reduction.
- Shift-basis work for employees will increase job satisfaction.
- Promoting the proper health and safety policies
Conclusion
Based on the reasons for the unsatisfactory level of
employees, it is the obligation of higher officials to retain the employees
within the company. Finding and providing solutions to the shortcomings of
employees at an unsatisfactory level will lead to the betterment of the
company. If employee satisfaction were a more important factor for better
production in the industry, then only the firm would get higher turnover and
lower amounts of wastage.

ReplyDeleteAppearal industries employees are in great affliction due to the covid pandemic, mainly due to population density. improving hygiene system and after greater awareness, management made good control of outbreak. Majority of workforce in the world fell in adverse economic problems like all the appearal employees during the this disaster. Apparently tragedy creaping up to some consolation. When it comes to the apparel industry it plays a huge role in the economy in all apparel manufacturing countries. As we ln Especially in Sri Lanka, government allows to continue production while offering special permits who are working in apparel industry.
